Not sure there is a current equivalent, as he was more than just a movie star.

Today's Bruce Lee as far as movie stardom goes has got to be Jackie Chan. Yet as far as for someone who had the kind of impact on the martial arts community as Bruce did, I do not think that anyone in our lifetime has fit into that bracket.

How about Royce Gracie ?

 

The Gracie's - thru Royce - have changed the way a lot of martial artists train. Martial arts schools wouldn't be offering grappling classes were it not for the Gracies.

Yes, but Royce is not as well known by everyone. He has had major influence in the arts though.
