Ai Hate Posted April 24, 2002 Posted April 24, 2002 The nearest i saw to that was the Budist monks doing handstands on their fingers. I've got visions of my finger exploding out of it's socket!! Would you hit someone with a single finger strike? Brettyin the book, there's a pic of a guy doing a 2 finger handstand.. i think their fingers are even stronger than my biceps! and again, there's a pic of a guy breaking a board with 1 finger (instead of punching it) and it said that a true master should be able to go through about 3 boards.. holy..
Bitseach Posted June 18, 2002 Posted June 18, 2002 Gosh, I would think that's an easy way to break a finger-nail! (just for some girly balance from the girlies!!) (actually I'd love to be able to do press-ups but find it quite hard - I say it's because I'm very tall!) When I saw Demi Moore doing those one-handed jobs in GI Jane....wow. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~My karma will run over your dogma~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
KickChick Posted June 19, 2002 Posted June 19, 2002 aw ... sheesh Bits! Height has nothing to do with not being able to perform a push/press up. (I think it's your lack of upper body strength ---you need to wrk on that girl and stop making excuses!) "Move over Demi ... let me show you how its done!"... More on the one hand push up here: http://www.karateforums.com/forums/viewtopic.php?topic=1402&forum=19&1 Now go break a nail!!!
Bitseach Posted June 20, 2002 Posted June 20, 2002 No, Kickchick! It's because I'm tall, okay? I'll have to check your link now and practise!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~My karma will run over your dogma~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

dtstiachi Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 I'm just curious,As a Tai Chi practicioner we focus a lot on our lower body strength and flexibility, (strong legs and waist/abdominal area) We don't however, do much for the upper body. My grandmaster has told us that doing Zhan Zhuang training (posting) will increase your upper and lower body strength.I have been posting for up to an hour a day. I don't necesarrily look stronger, (i.e. ripped chest etc,) but I do feel stronger. Is there anyone out the who does internal arts and can help me with upper body strength (ie. moves, excercizes, comments on Zhan Zhuang, etc)Thank you "The journey of a 1,000 miles starts with but a single step."
