Jeez, KickChick, how many types of push-ups? Ugh, I feel sick just looking at that list.

I think I can only do about 30 maximum of the normal ones...I think you termed them "Standard"...and I've only just got the hang of doing one or two (quite seriously) triangle push-ups, which I don't recall seeing in your list...

Well, hmmm, I might try out or two of those other types one day.. :uhoh:

lol kickbuttnat, nice way of looking at it.

oops  ...yeah I did forget the triangle (tricep) push ups..ok add those to the list too!

Honestly I have to tell you i downright HATE push ups but like brocolli I know they're good for me so I just try different ways to do them...(kinda like trying to "hide" brocolli under all that cheese sauce :brow: )

If you want upper-body strength, do some weight training. Go heavy, and low reps 6-8. Do about 3 sets of a few basic exercises. I recommend:

3 sets of Pull-downs or chin-ups

3 sets of Bench-press (flat or inclined)

3 sets of military press

Don't worry about getting "big and masculine", it won't happen. It takes bodybuilding women lots of time to get the way they are. Women do not have the same hormones as men, so it takes women much more work to get as big. You can workout hard and strong without worrying about getting "too big".

Thanks for that advice Ken....gotta say I highly doubt I'll be following it every day, but maybe now and again when I feel guilty for neglecting my upper body.

lol KickChick, maybe brocolli is just as painful as push-ups, I'll remember that next time I'm convinced I'm gonna break my nose because my arms have gave way...

Guys and those who can allready do good pushups really underestimate how hard it is for some of us to gain enough strength to do good pushups.

In the old days when I was in the army we still did pushups on our knees. And airborne training today only requires girls to do 18 pushups.

I have no idea how Kickchick can dod all those pushups. I am in true awe.

ooops...did I say "I" can do all of them? It's just a list of all the different types you can do. I do quite a selection from that list...so I don't get bored. Also works the different muscle groups in the upper body. I can mange a good 50 pushups after that I'm a noodle
