Aikidoka Posted September 13, 2001 Posted September 13, 2001 No killing is acceptable, whether in terrorism, war or vengeance. When you kill a person, even in self defence, you are saying that your life is more important than their's. That's just wrong.
Kickbutt Posted September 13, 2001 Author Posted September 13, 2001 What would you have them do then Aikidoka? Do you enjoy democracy? If so, are you willing to fight for it or would you conform to another religion/way of life without freedom of speech, religion or much else... Are you willing to give up your lway of life and that of your children? Ideally yes, there should be no war or killings, however you are not being realistic - the reality is that we must fight for our freedom in order to preserve it for ourselves and future generations. This is the way it had always been and always will be. Lori If you think something small cannot make a difference - try going to sleep with a mosquito in the room.-Unknown-

BlueDragon Posted September 13, 2001 Posted September 13, 2001 Why are we squabling amongst are selves? I am not saying America isn't a great nation or that we don't need them. I just wanted you to know that your allies have always been by your side when it started to get ugly. Canada and America are like family. Dependant on each other (Canada more so) and contributing to each others culture and country daily. In all fairness Canada has always supported the United States in all it's pursuits. We have never asked for much and we have always showed up when you needed us. In turn the United States has done the same for us. "Excuse me while I kiss the sky" -Hendrix
KickChick Posted September 13, 2001 Posted September 13, 2001 Why are we squabling amongst are selves? ...because it is one of the many things those "terrorists" want to happen to America and its allies. Let's not give in to it...here in this forum and worldwide. This was an act of war that could have been launched against any of your countries....it just happened to be against the United States of America. We are a brave and resilient country... And we will act accordingly ....make no mistake (as President Bush assured our country) .

iamrushman Posted September 13, 2001 Posted September 13, 2001 this is an act of war against all of the free world.........it has also affected all of us who read this........remember we are all affected, let's just make sure were not infected by this! rushman (karate forums sensei)3rd dan wtf/kukkiwon"saying nothing...sometimes says the most"--e. dickerson
babysteffee Posted September 13, 2001 Posted September 13, 2001 Everyone is right...I personally believe a war would be the most destructive outcome and should be avoided at all costs...probably I am being selfish - the UK will be the first to be destroyed, my family, friends and loved ones...surely it's understandable that someone from the UK should be defensive of their country... I do agree that we have to back the US and "stand shoulder to shoulder with them" but I don't agree that we (and other democratic societies in the Western world) should be forced into war...how democratic is that? Just I'm not convinced America, or us, or the democratic world or whatever and whoever this war against terrorism is going to be between, are going to win...there can't be any winners if everyone in the world is dead.
iamrushman Posted September 13, 2001 Posted September 13, 2001 no matter how you look at it........ FREEDOM IS NOT BY ANY MEANS FREE, AS A MATTER OF FACT, IT IS VERY COSTLY! rushman (karate forums sensei)3rd dan wtf/kukkiwon"saying nothing...sometimes says the most"--e. dickerson
thaiboxerken Posted September 13, 2001 Posted September 13, 2001 It's a very naive thought that we can settle this matter peacefully. The time for peace is gone, these terrorists need to be destroyed. If we wage war against these terrorists, everyone won't be dead, but they will be. A dead person is no longer a threat. The Bin Laden group has been at WAR with the USA for over a decade, it's just that they haven't realy been considered a threat until Tuesday, well now we should strike back. What else should we do? Just forget about it and let them keep doing their terrorist attacks on us? Just kick 'em, they'll understand.- Me Apprentice Instructor under Guro Inosanto in Jun Fan Gung Fu and Filipinno Martial arts.Certified Instructor of Frank Cucci's Linxx system of martial arts.
