Check out this story. Ungrateful wretches! :kaioken: I'm all for pulling our troops out, but come on people is has only been a week and a half. I mean, these people have been too afraid to liberate themselves, so we do it and the world a favor by deposing Saddam Hussein. Now they are turning on us. This could get ugly before it's all over.

Just new found freedom no big deal. Give it a few days. They have had all this rage built up for 30 years and now they can say how the feel. I think its good to see that they care. Our boys done a good job and everyone is thankful.

(General George S. Patton Jr.) "It's the unconquerable soul of man, and not the nature of the weapon he uses, that ensures victory."

With Saddam still lurking around, I don't see anyone getting rich in the near future. I hope the people really take to heart that Saddam is only a man and not some god. If he is alive like they think, he will most undoubtedly try to get back into power. The people should be very careful. May God grant them true freedom.

I'm sure that they are grateful for the Coalition's help, but are fearful of the US somehow trying to control the country, either through direct leadership, or more discrete means. We all know how British colonialisation went, and its no surprise that the Iraqi people would be very weary of something similar happening here.

oh come on... who here really thinks that we went over there to "liberate" the iraqis? the only reason the government had to make up that story was because they couldn't support any of their other reasons. remember - we first went over to combat terrorism. but then the world pointed out that there was no link between 9/11 and iraq, and that war on iraq would actaully help recruit new terrosists. THEN we said we were going because of weapons of mass destruction. but there was no evidence of that, then OR now. so that's when we played the "yay! free the iraqi people!" card. pity the poor souls who live under horrible dictators in countries where there ISN'T oil. we're not paying ANY attention to them!

and must we be reminded of who helped put sadaam in power? who turned a blind eye when he used chemical weapons on the iranians? who put the taliban in power? this country installs and supports horrible regimes all over the world. you just don't get to hear about it on FoxNews.

oh boy... here's a link to abcnews:

http://abcnews.go.com/sections/nightline/US/globalshow_030425.html

the first line of the article is pretty telling:

"To build its case for war with Iraq, the Bush administration argued that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction, but some officials now privately acknowledge the White House had another reason for war — a global show of American power and democracy."

i wonder how the families of the soldiers killed in this war feel about their loved ones having been used just to make a point.
