DeeLovesKarate Posted April 13, 2003 Posted April 13, 2003 Okay, I have a torn medial, and lateral meniscus. I was checking out recovery time online for sports, post- surgery, and it says 2-3 months. Has anyone here ever had this kind of sugery? Please tell me that the website i saw was innacurate. I've already been out for almost a month, stupid, stalling doctors. And can anyone describe to me their experience, and recovery with the surgery. Don't sugar-coat it, okay? I'm just about sick of that, too. Sorry, if I'm grouchy. Grrrr... WolverineGuy Posted April 13, 2003 Posted April 13, 2003 UGH! Sadly, everything I've seen points to quite a few months of recovery/rehabilitation. Anything involving the menisucs is VERY touchy. My girlfriend has a degeneration of the meniscus, which makes her training difficult, but not impossible. Hopefully, you have a speedy recovery, but DON'T PUSH IT!!! eyeball-san Posted April 20, 2003 Posted April 20, 2003 I'm in the same boat. Torn medial meniscus, I'm told, most probably. The soonest I can get into a specialist is May 6. I told my regular doc that I didn't want anything for pain. I may just go back on that in the next week if I see no improvement. Good luck,
CheekyMusician Posted April 20, 2003 Posted April 20, 2003 I'm sure I saw a post on this on the Shotokan Planet forums. I guess its worth checking them out and trying to track it down. Smile. It makes people wonder what you've been up to.
