kchenault Posted April 14, 2003 Posted April 14, 2003 Cool as cuccumber Patrick. Didn't mean to sound too pressuring. ;)I just haven't logged on since last Friday. It's been a few days for me already. Did the others just give up? Withers: The sooner we get articles in, the sooner we can all enjoy them. So write man, write! I think I am going to try another, taking my time to do it properly though. Ken ChenaultTFT - It does a body good!
Patrick Posted April 14, 2003 Author Posted April 14, 2003 Ken, Its cool. We had moved the deadline to Sunday at 10 PM, so that was just last night. I don't want to say much about the Articles feature, just that I have to wait on one thing and it may not be soon. But, I will make an announcement when it is getting close. Getting more articles in (building up our database) can only be good though. The results will be posted in a few minutes. Thanks. Patrick Posted April 14, 2003 Author Posted April 14, 2003 Hello. Challenge over. Here are the results: 1. monkeygirl - Article: White Belt: Learning How to Learn 2. kchenault - Article: Christians and the Martial Arts 3. LeaF - DNP 3. ZeRo - DNP I would like to say that both articles had good content and displayed good grammatical context. I didn't have to edit them all that much and they are both very good articles that I look forward to publishing some time in the future. It was very close between the two. Congrats to monkeygirl. You win the Immunity. Once again, it is time to vote someone off. Please note that EVERYONE can vote and that monkeygirl CANNOT be voted for. This means that you must vote for someone else. You vote by sending a private message via this link: http://www.karateforums.com/privmsg.php?mode=post&u=745 Please mention what player you are voting for and feel free to give a short rationale. The vote and rationale will be posted, but your username (IE: who made the vote) will not be posted. So, all votes will remain anonymous. If there is a tie in voting, I will then make the deciding vote. The deadline for this vote is Wednesday, April 16 at 10:00 PM Central US time. Please remember that the person voted off will then get to choose a person to take off with him/her. Good luck. Patrick Posted April 14, 2003 Author Posted April 14, 2003 Withers: there's an Article of the Year contest, too, when we do the KarateForums.com Awards. Assuming that both the articles section launches and that there are several articles made available before we have the 2003 awards. kchenault Posted April 15, 2003 Posted April 15, 2003 Hey monkeygirl, just out of curiousity, how long was your article? Mine was just over a thousand words. Again, I am just curious. I want to know how I stacked up against ya. Ken ChenaultTFT - It does a body good!
monkeygirl Posted April 15, 2003 Posted April 15, 2003 The official count from Word is 1344 words. But that includes some BBcode I used for formatting. So in the 1300 range. 1st dan & Asst. Instructor TKD 2000-2003No matter the tune...if you can rock it, rock it hard.
