muaythaidm Posted September 2, 2001 Posted September 2, 2001 Pretty soon I will have to start training on my own for about 4 monthes. Does any one know any drills that I can do to keep my techinique good? THanks for any thoughts. P.S. I train in Muay Thai [ This Message was edited by: muaythaidm on 2001-09-02 15:46 ]
thaiboxerken Posted September 2, 2001 Posted September 2, 2001 Shadow-box everything that you can. Do the heavy bag work and keep it live. Make sure that you keep your hands up and use footwork in everything you do. Push yourself... if you can't seem to tire yourself out with time, go for number of kicks or punches. It really is hard to train solo, you have to push yourself and that's hard to do. Maybe you should write out a schedule and keep track of your progress, that may help. Just kick 'em, they'll understand.- Me Apprentice Instructor under Guro Inosanto in Jun Fan Gung Fu and Filipinno Martial arts.Certified Instructor of Frank Cucci's Linxx system of martial arts.
muaythaidm Posted September 3, 2001 Author Posted September 3, 2001 Do you have any ideas on how many days per week and how long each session? Because I already have somewhat of a base in Muay Thai do you think I would get any benefit from videos or books? Thanks
cross Posted December 3, 2003 Posted December 3, 2003 Just keep training the same way you did at your school (or as close to the same as possible) also do alot of bag work and find some sparring partners.
