Do I really need to change my way of eating to lose weight in karate. My diet is okay I don't consume many calories a day and I've been at the same weight for atleast a year. So would I really need to change it to lose weight in karate?

BK I just replied to your other post.So I'll reply to this one in my own way.

There's 2 way's to lose weight.Quit eating like them folks on survivor or work your butt off at something.

My favorite way to lose weight would be framming houses or Bailing hay etc.

Karate aint gonna do it & some stair stepper aint gonna do it.

Good luck.

Simply put, if you consume less calories than your body expends, you will lose weight. Either increase the intensity of your workouts or decrease your daily caloric intake. As you replace fat with muscle your caloric requirements will increase (more muscle=more calories burned) so your intake can increase proportionally. Eventually you will find the balance.

The problem with dieting is you need to eat small meals more often. Many people go on diets and eat 2 meals a day. The problem is when your body doesn't have food coming in then it goes into starvation and starts storing calories. ie Fat. So this is counterproductive. Just be more cautious of what you eat. Stay away from Dunkin Donuts and McDonalds and eat Fresh City or something a bit healthier. Don't go crazy just be smart.
