BKJ1216
Do I really need to change my way of eating to lose weight in karate. My diet is okay I don't consume many calories a day and I've been at the same weight for atleast a year. So would I really need to change it to lose weight in karate? Smith amp Wesson
BK I just replied to your other post.So I'll reply to this one in my own way. There's 2 way's to lose weight.Quit eating like them folks on survivor or work your butt off at something. My favorite way to lose weight would be framming houses or Bailing hay etc. Now John Candy figured out how to become a lean mean fighting machine !!!He joined the Army ("Stripes" for those that were born in decades I can remember) Karate aint gonna do it & some stair stepper aint gonna do it. Good luck.

When I first joined my school, I did cardio every night, then my normal class...I lost about twenty pounds...then gained the muscle back in my legs and abs. ninjanurse
Simply put, if you consume less calories than your body expends, you will lose weight. Either increase the intensity of your workouts or decrease your daily caloric intake. As you replace fat with muscle your caloric requirements will increase (more muscle=more calories burned) so your intake can increase proportionally. Eventually you will find the balance. Withers M.A.A.
The problem with dieting is you need to eat small meals more often. Many people go on diets and eat 2 meals a day. The problem is when your body doesn't have food coming in then it goes into starvation and starts storing calories. ie Fat. So this is counterproductive. Just be more cautious of what you eat. Stay away from Dunkin Donuts and McDonalds and eat Fresh City or something a bit healthier. hobz
5-6 Meals a day, 3 hours apart. Should help keep the metabolism working. Rule #1: Play the game to the limit. Damn the consequences.

SaiFightsMS
Pack your lunch the night before. And include snacks that can be consumed between classes.
