I have been told by my free style karate instuctor that he is going to put me in a compotion. I don't know if it's piont or knock out yet but are there any tips anyone can tell me to get ready for it like training. :kaioken:

just kick or be kicked. either way, just have fun and take it as a learning expierence. also, kick hard and from both legs. bounce and keep your weight balanced. switch legs and do many combo kicks. also, try to kick at least 3 times before you back off, if not more! good luck

Yes you better find out what type of competition you are going into.

 

Kata is quite different than Kumite, but I am sure your Sensei knows what you are ready for.

Knock out? I thought that was only in the computer games... Didn't think people really do a knockout fight! I wanna try.. Actually- I don't..

 

My tip: GIVE 'EM HELL! Don't stop attacking or if it's a kata on low stances and good moves

I agree with the others,try to find out if its point based or full contact cause theres a big diffrence in both.
