Well okay today I was like shadow boxing basically, when I started geting very mild chest pains. What scared my so much about it is it is directly over the heart area. I don't know if it is my pectorial or my heart because it only happend when I extended my arm. Should I go see a doctor about this? It only lasted about 1 punch. But It scared my very badly beacuse I was afraid that I may be developing heart problems.

Hi!

Sounds quite frightening. However, if it only happened on one punch the likelihood of it being a heart problem is small (very small). Extending your arm like that stretches the muscles in your chest wall and also the ligaments on the inside of your rib cage, so you may have squashed a nerve momentarily or even over-worked a muscle group so that it gave you a warning "ouch!" To be on the safe side, and for your own peace of mind, you could visit a doctor and have a stress test done (ECG etc) so that you can be sure there is nothing sinister going on there. Personally, I don't think there is--but then I'm not a doctor!

Take care, and I hope you are OK!

Best to play safe here - go see the doc. The chances are they'll just reassure you its nothing, but on the small chance it could be something worse you need to know.

Currently: Kickboxing and variants.
