Well I can't start karate until may 12 and that' is just so long to wait. Is there anything I can start doing now?

Stretch, do some cardio stuff, and work on some basic stances: front, horse, cat, etc. Work some basic blocks, up, down, out, and in. If you are not familiar with these basic things, look 'em up on the net and start practicing to get familiar and comfortable with each of them.

maybe read some books, and get some history and theory down, I personally found that tided me over during vacations etc. One great book that requires like ) knowledge is "the 47 ronin story", very entertaining. :_

yes, just like everyone else said. Get into condition your going to be training hard. Pushups, Situps, Running, even meditation (if you know how) will all help.. :-) good luck :)
