Jack Posted March 6, 2003 Posted March 6, 2003 Hey, I started a new routine two weeks ago which consists of the following exercises.. Situps, Pushups, Fingertip Pushups, Pullups, Hindu Squats, Neck Bridge, Deep Horseriding stance, Isometric leg holds I have done all of these exercises before without getting any sort of pain in my hand the day after except for Fingertip Pushups, and so I suspect these. I wanted to know if the soreness I was experiencing is a result of DOMS or if it is something more serious telling me I should stop the exercise. If anybody has any links to articles regarding the fingertip pushup as being an "unsafe" exercise or the like, feel free to put it up! Thanks. KickChick Posted March 6, 2003 Posted March 6, 2003 Hey Jack!! Could possibly be an inflammation of the tendons near two of the muscles that help to move the thumb o from the rest of the hand. This injury is quite common with repetitive movements of the hand. Whether those fingertip push ups are the culprit or not or whether it is this condition... is hard to say. Maybe try not to do them for awhile and see.
ninjanurse Posted March 7, 2003 Posted March 7, 2003 It may be wise to rest and then start a finger/hand strengthening program before resuming fingertip pushups.
