Pounding walls, bricks, floor, sand, nails, makiwara, etc. But thats just the physical aspect..there are techniques to learn also. Find a competent teacher so you don't put your hands and wrists at risk!

I have seen a few ppl who have seriously, and possibly permanently messed their hands up by doing foolish things to try to make them tuff, honestly there is really no need to strike walls, floors, bricks or anything that can cause serious injury. if you want to work your hands (in my opinion) a heavy bag is all you need.

All I really want to do is toughen my hands up. Tehy're not very hard and they're rather sensative, in order to do some of the blocks I'd need tough hands and forarms. That's why I wanted to know if I could learn this at my dojo.

You know BKJ I understand that you want to prepare yourself for the big day when you begin your training.... but might I suggest that you just sit tight a bit and WAIT FOR MAY 12th. I do love your enthusiasm but I do believe (and hopefully the rest of the community here will back me up on this) you may be "jumping the gun" a bit.

Presently (in order to prepare), read, stretch, exercise/cardio/run, get yourself mentally and emotionally prepared. Seems to me you have too many irons in the fire.... your concentration is all over the place. Wait and see what "Shudokan" is all about and go on from there.

In the meantime, keep up the enthusiasm and I do hope you continue to have that as you train further on! :) :karate:

Oh and if it's simple hand & forearn conditioning you're after.... get yourself a heavy bag and some mitts. Really that is all you need for now. Iron palm is for the serious martial artist ...for example those involved in Tameshiwari
