zweistein Posted February 15, 2003 Posted February 15, 2003 Hi... I saw pretty much threads about this, but I never saw anything posted by somebody this young, so here we go. I'm 15.5 years old, 161cm tall and 79kg in weight (well, at least I was the last time I was measuring it). My BMI index is 30.5, and that worries me much. I have asthma, and the overweight adds to my breathing problems. I calculated I should take at least 10 kilograms off, but I don't know the best method for that... I heard that diets aren't so effective and healthy. I work out regularly and do Shotokan, but that doesn't seem to help. I try to eat less sweets and more healthier food. I am in the gym for a few months now and just started training Karate again... Any more advice? Thanks!
The_Devil_In_Disguise Posted February 15, 2003 Posted February 15, 2003 I never do any exercise apart from freestyle kicks and acrobatics From this I am well built, not muscly but defined I would reccomend that you just maybe get together witha friend and cheroegraph an energetic fight scene. My mate used to weigh neraly that much and he lost about two or 3 kilos in a couple of months from this One thing I would say, don't expect quick results, you must stick with it and don't give up because YOU CAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BladeLee Posted February 15, 2003 Posted February 15, 2003 Since i dont know the exact conversion right now , could you post your height in inches and weight in lbs? And as far as losing weight, read up on how to diet..infact its not even really dieting, i can't explain it though . Add some cardio a couple days a week, preferably in the morning on an empty stomach. Stop drinking pop, drink water. Cut back on all the saturated fat and when you do take in fat(which you need), try to make it monounsaturated or polyunsaturated so you get your omega 3's and junk. Figure out how many calories you need each day, and make them come from about 40%carbs(complex)/40%protein/20%fat. Well there are a few tips, hope they help. ~BladeLee~
