June1 Posted January 30, 2005 Posted January 30, 2005 I did too! It's amazing how out of shape one can get even while doing some karate at home (Who am I kidding? There's no room here in this apartment! ). Kool Kiais: ICE! DIE! KITES! DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHHH! KIAI!"Know Thyself""Circumstances make me who I am."
vertigo Posted February 1, 2005 Posted February 1, 2005 (Who am I kidding? There's no room here in this apartment! ). Apartment?!?! Consider yourself lucky! Try a dorm room (now there's a 'no room' room for you)... I've kicked my fridge so many times trying to get my side thrust kicks down... I'm waiting for it to kick back one of these days "Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go." - T. S. Eliot
Kit Posted February 1, 2005 Posted February 1, 2005 Tell me about dorm rooms, I can't even practice in my room because i'm in such a small room. The only thing i can do are my stretches and push ups and sit ups. I tried going out into our common room but then you get an audience, not something i want when i'm trying to practice.
June1 Posted February 1, 2005 Posted February 1, 2005 He he. I actually do push-ups and sit-ups in my bedroom every other night! It sucks not having enough space to practice techniques. I always have to stop before I hit the wall, back up, and continue. I'd love to have a separate room that would act as a gym/dojo. *sigh* Dare to dream... Kool Kiais: ICE! DIE! KITES! senna_trem Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 I can't wait for late spring and summer so I can use our front lawn to practice. "I think therefore I am" Rene Descartes
KUNTA KINTE Posted February 6, 2005 Posted February 6, 2005 Stepping on the wreslting mat before a match. LOL The right to keep and bear Arms.
ncole_91 Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 I have been noticing almost saying Hai to alot of teachers ay school. I usually stop myself just before, buts I get a little laugh. I have never had any bowing embarrasing moments, only Hai.
lilsempai Posted March 27, 2005 Posted March 27, 2005 I keep bowing before crossing the road after training - I'm looking forward to someone asking why (it's a zebra crossing), could be difficult to explain... Walk your talk - please walk your talk
June1 Posted March 28, 2005 Posted March 28, 2005 Alright. Let me be the first to ask... why? No, seriously. Kool Kiais: ICE! DIE! KITES! DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHHH! KIAI!"Know Thyself""Circumstances make me who I am."
mindsedgeblade Posted March 28, 2005 Posted March 28, 2005 Never had any bowing incidents outside of class. But I sometimes get mixed up with how I'm supposed to bow. My dojo and my weapons instructor use two different styles. This can be a headache, especially with my hands full. Anyone ever try to bow when carrying a heavy bag on your shoulder? That was almost embarrassing! Imagine, an 80 pound bag on your shoulder, and the chains smacking you in the back... That was a very precarious, very slight bow. Got a good workout though, toting that up and down stairs. The best a man can hope foris, over the course of his lifetime,to change for the better.
