Neil
For the past 3 months I have been eating high carbohydrates such as pasta, loads of white bread with peanut butter, cereals, and other types like full fat milk and eating loads of protein like tuna and meat. I'v been bulking up to increase weight. But I was thinking of changing my diet to one of the orientals. Matt Furey personally uses this diet in Combat Abs and Sherpas also use it. Basically it maximizes strengh development without gaining any access flab or weight. You only eat vegetables, fruit, nuts, and poultry. Thats it. Lean meats and vegetbles. But doesn't weight have very distint advanages? Maybe a diet like that would hinder fighting ability since you could easily be tossed over? This also address the 'Warrior Diet' which I havn't read but from what is said it uses the same thing. regards, Neil

Ah .... yes .... eat like an emperor and have the body of a gladiator Well, according to this diet ..... a warrior is always ready for action, with energy available whenever he or she needs it!. Big meals or lots of different foods can make you sluggish, and cause energy and blood to be directed to to our abdomen (liver, stomach, intestines) to digest and assimilate our food. For more.... http://www.warriordiet.com/ I say....Beware of ALL diets!!! This diet consists of small meals or snacks eaten every two to three hours throughout the day ... which is a good thing but you limit your big meal for the evening! BonnyBoy
I'm rather sceptical of Matt Furey's stuff based on what I've heard from my training buddies. Doesn't really sound like Matt Furey's diet to me, well, it is, it's basically a low carb diet from what you've described with some slight modifications which probably work for him - and that's the whole point - it may work for him, but who's to say it will work for you? I have had success with extremely low carb diets for losing fat, but as soon as I resume eating a high carbohydrate diet, I pack on twice as much as I lost! KickChick has always said 'everything in moderation' and I tend to agree now - my current way of eating isn't really high or low in everything. By that, I mean I don't cut carbohydrates to drastic levels, I just eliminate ridiculous amounts from my diet, while eating a decent amount of protein, and I allow myself some sweets as well. I try to reduce the amount I eat at dinner time as well, since that is when you are the least active and any carbs not used will be stored as fat. You will find a lot of the information concerning high carb vs. low carb will conflict, and it is up to you to see which works best for you. Studies have shown that what type of diet works best for you is dependent on your blood type. Some people will go to weight watchers (high carb), and lose stacks of weight quickly & easily, whereas other people will go on Atkin's diet and lose weight quickly & easily while other people don't. There are always two choices, two paths. One choice is easy and its only reward is it's easy.It takes sacrifice to be the best.
tkdlegend
one thing ive learned about a good diet is just to make sure you keep healthy, try to keep carbs to lunchtime at the latest, high in protein = good, and regular meals a day (for instance 5 - 7 smaller meals than 3 large ones) is alot better for your body. -= To truly be immortal, you must be ready to face death. =-
