I don't know about the banana thing considering I eat a lot of them, but I'm sure extremely sore from that intense abdominal work out we had to do.

I'm always sore after workouts even with stretching, so I'll try all the above stuff too :smile:

I found it interesting that some of the younger members are actively participating in this topic. So it's not just us old farts huh?

 

So now what is everyones favorite smelly topical analgesic?

Oh No! :eek: Not that "old people" stuff!

 

Tiger Balm is awesome...I only use it when I really really NEED to. I now have invested in a hot tub which I use after every workout. Actually hot baths (if you don't have a jacuzzi/hot tub) will suffice. Submerge yourself immediately after your workout! Goodbye sore muscles!...well, until next time!

sore muscles are a part of working out. the muscle must slightly injure itself and then be given time to grow back stronger. If a problem persist for a while, seek a doctors advice, Also, a little sorness never hurt anyone. If you need something for the pain, take asprin

Is there anyway you can prevent sore muscles following training? It's just my shoulders and arms that are sore for a couple of days after a class, my legs aren't. I've tried the usual warm baths and plenty of stretching exercises when warming down but nothing seems to be working.

Warm up and cool down properly

Stretch properly

Take Glutamine

my in condordance with what anonymous and dtst said...

the muscle is just fatigued, and will become stronger and less sore with streches and each day more of training...unless it persists for a long period...then it could be tendonitis, bursitis, a pull...etc..then see a doc

my quads and thighs have been hurting since friday and now its tuesday but they only hurt a small bit now. to much dancing this weekend. though i find it a really good work out on your toes and jumpin up and down for 6 hrs straight. :lol:
