July 9Jul 9 California Declares May 17 as Bruce Lee Day: A Historic Honor for Martial Arts’ Greatest Icon first official Bruce Lee Day in 2027. I like Bruce Lee, even trained JKD for a little bit, but I'm not exactly sure why they would make it an official day in any state
July 12Jul 12 Speaks so much in volumes about Bruce Lee’s legacy across the board!! Not many, if any, can say that about themselves; I know I can’t!! **Proof is on the floor!!!
July 29Jul 29 That is an interesting thing. I imagine Van Damme is celebrated in Brussels like that, too. https://www.haysgym.com http://www.sunyis.com/ https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
Monday at 12:31 AM3 days Bruce Lee is still a big deal in the Asian community, not just the martial arts world. There's even a book out about his cultural effect now, a generation later. Bruce was up against racism and traditionalism, what he did was pioneering.I trained in JKD for quite a few years with people from Tim Tackett's Wenesday Night Group. Our JKD came out of the Oakland/Chinatown school era. Tim was an early student of Dan Inosanto during that time.

Another trained with several of the first generation guys, but he was originally a student of my first teacher. And another was from the Dan Inosanto side of the fence.but Bruce Lee is not as big a deal in the Asian community on the east coast. But that didn’t stop me from finding the Bruce Lee statue when I was in Hong Kong and getting my picture taken with it Edited Monday at 01:36 PM2 days by WalterJ
