Check out a fitness kickboxing class...my class is usually attended by people who are planning to test and want to work on their cardio endurance. It does help and you will benefit from it in more ways than that too!

..If there isn't anything like that in your area, I suggest running. Increase distance with run.

Would this improve my stamina in two weeks.Thats when I grade.I need a fast resolution.I haven't left it until the last minute or anything but I have realised that I would rather be overfit and last than just fit enough and scrape my way through.

Running will improve your stamina in two weeks. Maybe not 100% but a lot, and more than any other method (IMO).

Make sure you start easy though, you don't want to get an injury...run for maybe 5 days a week, increasing the distance slightly for two of them with a rest the day after.

Even if you can only manage a mile or two at first, by the end of the second week you should be able to double it.

Good luck!

Two weeks left eh? Maybe you should've thought about endurance/stanima like 6 weeks ago. Anyway, you can run to build up stanima, you can also kick and hit pads. Check out the endurance thread for my Muay Thai style kick workout, that will get you going.

Another way of building stamina is skipping...that would probably be better because you could practise for 10 minutes or so whenever you could fit it in instead of finding time to run all at once; and there will be less strain on your ankles and knees. I take my skipping rope everywhere I go, lol.

Or bike riding, but again, you need to have the free time.

and if all else fails bear in mind of couple of things on the day of your test...

Get plenty of rest the night before. Warm up completely in the morning followed by stretching.

During test ...gage yourself. Don't expend all of your energy at once. Breathe in through nose and out through mouth. Look straight ahead....

You can only perform to the level you have been conditioned to...hopefully you'll do well!

Thanks kickchick,

Thaiboxerken, you are sadly mistaken,Yes I did think of this about two months ago but now I realise that I want to be fitter for the exam so I can try harder than I need to.

Moobrack after talking you on ICQ... one thing which can't help with endurance/slimness is going off for three slices of toast with lots of melting butter one, followed by an entire cheesecake with chocolate sauce!

heh
