Hello, my name is Robert Mitcham, and I go by sensei8 on KarateForums.com. Responding to @Patrick's prompt, please allow me to answer a few questions about the community for KarateForums.com's 25th birthday.

1. How do you view yourself when you joined the community, and how has that changed?

When I first joined the community in 2008, I had a chip on my shoulder that brought me nothing but disappointment to the community as well as from its leaders.

That was then! Now I’ve learned to be far more helpful, supportive, respectful, and appreciative of the community as a whole because KF is not about the individuals as much as it is about the community.

2. What does KarateForums.com mean to you?

KF means everything to me. KF has allowed me to separate myself from the SKKA bubble. That there’s far more away from that bubble. Had it not been for KarateForums.com, I’m quite sure that I would’ve continued down the wrong path. Thank you, KF!

3. How has KarateForums.com impacted your life and/or martial arts journey?

KF has greatly impacted both my life and my martial arts journey. In my life, I learned to be far more understanding towards my family as well as people. In my martial arts journey, I knew and accepted the vastness that is the martial arts through each and every KF member that has come and gone; I’ve learned far more from the KF members than I could have possibly imagined! I’m a better person and martial artist than I can ever express my gratitude - because of KarateForums.com!

4. What memories stand out when you look back on your time here?

I imagine that that’s a very difficult question to answer because in the 18 years that I’ve been a member here, there has been so many fond memories in my mind, as well as in my heart, that stand out.
