KickChick
We were talking in class one night about how some people sweat more than others and how much more quickly someone sweats than another person...and I found this out. A common myth is that people who sweat quickly are out of shape. On the contrary, a body accustomed to working hard will cool more efficiently. The more fit you are, the quicker you’ll sweat. defenestration_girl
I always sweat loads when i train, and i know for a fact that its not because im unfit, simply because i also have a high metabolism and its kinda linked to that. one thing to remember is that sweating isn't a bad thing, its just your body's way of cooling off. I like to think that the more i sweat, the hotter i am, therefore, the more calories i am burning off!!! But don't judge someone if they don't sweat alot during training, their probably working just as hard as you! me x and your point is....?
Kickbutt
That's funny how you brought that up - I just found out the same thing not too long ago...and I must be REALLY fit cause I sweat like a racehorse!!!! My entire shirt is soaking wet by the time I'm done! One thing to keep track of though, is your intake of water - always drink lots!! Even more when you're working out! babysteffee
Well I didn't know that...but it's great news because I sweat straight away, as opposed to before when I didn't sweat until after working-out. I just assumed it was because now I drink a lot of water whereas I didn't before.

thaiboxerken
While it's great to sweat and a person in good shape should sweat alot. Sometimes a person that is unhealthy will sweat much more than they should when training. What a person should pay attention to is their heart-rate and breathing when they are training. Just watch yourself and don't over-exert. Just kick 'em, they'll understand.- Me Apprentice Instructor under Guro Inosanto in Jun Fan Gung Fu and Filipinno Martial arts.Certified Instructor of Frank Cucci's Linxx system of martial arts. KickChick
True Ken...that is basically a no-brainer. Remember to warmup completely (until you have broken quite a sweat) followed by strtching, before you begin your main training. Know the difference between "I'm pooped" pain and injury pain. It is not ok to push past this--->overexertion.Do not go to the point where you are hyperventilating and seeing yellow. Just work at a pace where you know you are working hard. And yes!!! Drink plenty of fluids! Dehydration will lead to muscle tears and pulls. Deby

babysteffee
I would stop at both the "I'm pooped" pain and the injury pain...the injury pain just gets worse if you don't stop, and the other..well, it's no fun having to roll out of bed the next morning because you can't sit up....
