Distance training?

Does anyone else train this way for lack of better options? After much thought, it seems like sending videos of training is the best way to progress when doing it in person isn’t possible.

Even if there are some parts of training that require in person evaluation, it would be better than nothing. 

Travelling one direction or the other to train might only be possible once every two years as it is quite far and expensive for myself.

I do Zoom Sessions here and there; so similar to how many of us would have trained during COVID. Which I preferred over sending a video in and waiting for feedback. 

The hardest part to training solo is not having a parter to do a lot of the stuff and pressure test things. 

And working with others like yourself i'd love to do on a semi-regular basis if it was a financially viable situation for me to do so.

I take Kobudo classes from a guy in Canada and we meet over the internet. We generally get together with a video call on Sundays, and then (if I remember) I send him progress videos. It's unranked, but I'm not really concerned with the rank. I just love the practice. In general, I get nervous when rank and distance training are involved. It's very difficult to tell the nuances over video, when you don't have the ability to walk around or even see everything up close.

This is my biggest complaint about online training as I do it now. There are some partner drills that I am missing out on because I don't have anyone to do it with.
