July 12Jul 12 Author McGregor came back, and it was a disaster. A little over a minute into the fight it was stopped because McGregor was hurt. He came out, slipped several times, and I guess injured his leg, and the ref stopped it. People paid thousands of dollars for tickets to see this. What a ripoff. I'd be furious, but I didn't give them any money. All hype no action. Months of building for a fight that was shorter than the walkout. I hope we never see McGregor ever fight in the UFC again. It never made sense for him to come back. UFC gave him too much money to say no, I guess. Michael Chabdker spent two years waiting on this and never got to fight. Max Halloway walks into the biggest payday of his life and wins by just showing up. Sheesh.
July 12Jul 12 I suppose whenever you’re at a certain level of something it’s hard to walk away…the stage keeps pulling you back!! **Proof is on the floor!!!
July 13Jul 13 Author Max Holloway started pushing for the trilogy right after the fight. Of course he wants that, it is another huge payday. I guess Conor has one fight left on his contract but depending on the injury who knows if/when he comes back to the UFC. Maybe he will wait a few years then fight Jake Paul. Lots of speculation as to when the injury happened, with many saying it could have been he was hurt before the fight. Conor insists that he was not injured prior to the fight and that this is all a total shock. Joe Rogan stated that it happened on the first jumping kick because he landed awkward.
July 13Jul 13 Personally i think it was just a freak occurrence. Looked like he did his ACL landing from that first kick. I doubt he was fighting injured (besides the typical bumps and scrapes that fighters always have heading into a fight). His brand has taken enough of a hit in the last few years with all of the losses - if he was injured i think he would have delayed the fight. Plus he makes the UFC so much money they wouldn't want him fighting hurt either. They would want a toe to tow war that let them market his next fight for a lot of money too. He has bulked up so much from his fighting peak that i wonder if his body just isn't capable of performing at the higher weight to the required standard. It is one thing for an untrained individual to put on loads of muscle weight over time as they were so far from their maximum capability that it makes sense. Pro athletes will be so much closer to their maximum that when they put on as much as he has done (unless it is natural age related weight gain) it just seems inevitable to me that they are pushing it a lot. He was at his peak at 145lbs. This was 170lbs fight - that is quite a jump for someone who should have already been near their athletic maximum
July 16Jul 16 2 days ago, McGregor says he plans to fight in the UFC octagon despite his leg injury from his fight with Holloway that only lasted a very quick 69 seconds.I hope he doesn’t return. **Proof is on the floor!!!

He was still moving forward when he landed, and that appeared to do his leg in. Torn ACL I think it was. He couldn't drive off that leg afterwards. On 7/13/2026 at 5:19 AM, DarthPenguin said:He was at his peak at 145lbs. All those guys cut quite a bit; it's as unhealthy as it is for wrestlers. I don't think his body should have been shocked by how much he weighed. https://www.haysgym.com http://www.sunyis.com/ https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com

I would have much preferred to see Holloway smash him tbh!
