Sadly, the Hurricanes are 0-13 in Conference Finals games going all the way back to their last Stanley Cup in 2006. They haven't won a single game in the conference finals since then. KarateKen Posted May 22 Posted May 22 (edited) NHL continues to discuss adding more teams. Houston and Atlanta are the frontrunners for the next expansion markets. Despite many critics pointing to Atlanta already having two prior teams, Flames and Thrashers, the league does not consider that a deal breaker. The NHL wants to expand to larger markets, and Houston and Atlanta are both that. They also want the American dollars, and the ability to expand their fan base. By adding Houston and Atlanta they can get their high price tag for a franchise, approximately a billion dollars, tap into untapped hockey markets, and bring new fans to the sport. This is why the league is not considering expanding to Quebec City anytime soon. Too small a market and the city is already loaded with hockey fans. Bettman has also stated that adding new teams would not change the current playoff format. Edited May 22 by KarateKen
KarateKen Posted May 22 Posted May 22 Wow, what a comeback by the Stars. The Oilers were up 3-1 and looked like they had control of the game, but then Dallas puts up five unanswered in the third to win it 6-3. Chants of "USA" came down from the hometown fans as Dallas makes a big comeback and takes a 1-0 lead in the series. What a turn around. Sing it with me..... "Start spreading the message, God Bless Texas!!!!"
KarateKen Posted May 23 Posted May 23 Florida goes into Carolina and dominates the first two games, winning tonight 5-0 and a combined score of 10-2. Panthers are looking unstoppable right now. In their last four wins they have outscored Toronto and Carolina 22-4.
KarateKen Posted May 24 Posted May 24 Oilers tie the series, winning 3-0 in Dallas as it shifts to Edmonton. Skinner has been all over the map. In this three wins this post season he has pitched three shutouts, however in the four losses he has given up 20 goals. While the timeline to return for Calvin Pickard is unknown, the play by Skinner could be what determines the winner in this series. Mood: Late in the second period, when the Stars were down 3-0, ESPN showed the crowd and one of the commentators said, "it doesn't look like any of them are having fun right now." I am glad he said that, because it was exactly how I was feeling.

sensei8 Posted May 24 Posted May 24 Since my Knights were demolished by the Oilers, my interest in the NHL anything as waned, however, depending on which teams end up battling for the Stanley Cup, like if the Stars, for example, reach to the championship games, I might watch. No Stars…no interest…Stars…will watch!! **Proof is on the floor!!!
