hkwebsuccour Posted December 16, 2021 Posted December 16, 2021 There is a proverb that says, 'Health is Wealth'. But good health means a life without mental illness, injury and pain. Can anyone clarify it? Say no to eating fast food, take a balanced diet, take sound sleep and follow health tips.
Zaine Posted December 16, 2021 Posted December 16, 2021 Welcome to KF!I disagree heavily with the statement that "good health" necessitates a life free of mental illness. Those with mental illness can be and are in good health, they just sometimes need to take a few extra steps to get there.I feel that you're also confusing overall health with situational health. Does receiving an injury mean that my overall health is poor? Of course not, it just means that I've been injured. Think more broadly in this case. Good health is the pursuit of health and the results therein. One off moments like injury or a bad mental health day do not doom a person, and someone focused on health will approach the hurdle as needed.Largely what this means is that healthy people do not have to worry about health. This is a misnomer, a person who is healthy generally worries about health and therefore do experience stress over it. However, they're not bogged down by necessary doctor visits and going to a specialist. Their physical health needs routine check-ups and that saves a lot of money. sensei8 Posted December 16, 2021 Posted December 16, 2021 Good health...There's so many types of Health:Physical MentalEmotionalSocialEnvironmentalHealth VS Wellness...Health once meant absence of disease. After some time, health was extended to mean good state of the mind as well. Albeit it's more than just being physically well; you will have to be mentally good too to be called a healthy person. Health consists in keeping the body free of diseases, whereas, I'm not healthy because of my prostate cancer.Wellness, on the other side of the coin, is the state of living a healthy lifestyle. There is half a dozen of elements that make wellness what it is. I refer you make to the list aforementioned, with the addition of intellectual health and spiritual health. On the other hand, wellness aims at the general well-being of the individual; wellness does not aim at the treatment of various types of diseases. This is what I've learned these past 18 months of fighting my Stage 4 Prostate Cancer from my all of Medical Oncologists, especially Dr. Goodman. My body is fighting to return back to healthy, however, my wellness MUST fight just as hard as my body is to corral and fight and win against my cancer. My wellness runs the gambit, and while I'm a very strong individual, I too have my moments where my wellness diminishes, which doesn't serve my health at all. **Proof is on the floor!!!
