bushido_man96
Every brand of escrima/arnis stick I've bought have all started to splinter out after some decent amount of contact drills.Does anyone have suggestions for a set of sticks that won't start to splinter out and can hold up to lots of single and double stick drills? https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
sensei8
Cocobolo Escrima/Arnis sticks. Its density and hardness is very difficult to doubt it across the board. Cocobolo is a very heavy, tough and strong wood. Cocobolo is so dense that it will sink in water if you drop it in a swimming pool, not that you'll drop it in the pool, but if you do, it'll be resistant to water. My first exposure to Cocobolo was when I bought a nunchaku made from Cocobolo; I wanted to break cinder blocks with them to demonstrate the power of the nunchaku and not the Cocobolo. After that, I made sure that my wooden weapons were made of Cocobolo. You'll splinter before the Cocobolo does. **Proof is on the floor!!!

Nidan Melbourne
I use cheap ones, but they have lasted years even with constant partner work. But I have also use Kamagong Wood; which is a hardwood and apparently is one of the strongest.
bushido_man96
That's what I think I need, a hardwood stick. My rattan always starts to fray. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
