PhilM1 Posted January 15, 2003 Posted January 15, 2003 i am about to get some creatine. does anyone take it? have any advice? pros and cons? fight til you die
yellowsnow Posted January 15, 2003 Posted January 15, 2003 I have used it in the past. I would say it is 1 of the top 3 best OTC supps to buy, along with glutamine and protein powder. Take 20 grams everyday for the first 7 days (called loading faze) then after that, continue with 10 grams a day for as long as you like. Remember to divide your dosages up throughout the day @ 5 grams each. Its good stuff
jiu-jitsu fighter Posted January 15, 2003 Posted January 15, 2003 i would suggest not using creatine so much theres not alot of info about it, and its long term side effects i would rather suggest using protein powder, its a much safer, alternative hope this helps, talk to your doctor, not those gnc "health specialists they don;t know s*it "When we go to the ground, you are in my world, the ground is the ocean, I am the shark, and most people don't even know how to swim"
Tombstone Posted January 15, 2003 Posted January 15, 2003 in my opinion, creatine is safe as long as you follow the directions and cycle off. some common side effects are acne and kidney infection.
jiu-jitsu fighter Posted January 15, 2003 Posted January 15, 2003 KIDNEY INFECTION , COMMON ? PHILM , YOU HEARD IT FOR YOURSLEF p.s. no one wants acne talk to your doctor "When we go to the ground, you are in my world, the ground is the ocean, I am the shark, and most people don't even know how to swim"
Jack Posted January 15, 2003 Posted January 15, 2003 jiu-jitsu fighter, most doctors know nothing but misunderstanding and lies concerning sports supplementation - some of them also think doing chest exercises will reduce fat in the chest area. Phil, make sure you follow the guidelines and make sure you drink PLENTY OF WATER. Cycle on and off. You'll be fine. JackCurrently 'off' from formal MA trainingKarateForums.com
BlackBeauty Posted January 16, 2003 Posted January 16, 2003 i've been using creatine for years and also been doing weight-training for years. my main use is to fuel muscles while i lose weight but is also used in a slightly different way to bulk up. the current one i use is what i would highly recommend. It's produced my Muscle-Tech and is called Cell-Tech. It is supposed to be 19 times better than Creatine alone. The results so far have been very good for both myself and my fiance who is bulking up: http://www.muscletech.com/PRODUCTS/CELL-Tech/CELL_Tech.shtml ==================http://come.to/BlackBeauty==================
Jack Posted January 16, 2003 Posted January 16, 2003 BlackBeauty - don't fall for Muscle-Tech's false advertising. Cell-Tech is just creatine with lots of sugar dumped in, given a pretty logo, and sold at an extortionate price. You'd be much better off buying plain Creatine Monohydrate for a cheaper price and a superior product. 19 times better than Creatine? Laughable. Muscle-Tech always seem to say "Our product is 23,500% better than all the others!" All Muscle-Tech products are vastly overrated, overpriced, and inferior to most other products out on the market. Don't fall for the marketting gimick. Take care, JackCurrently 'off' from formal MA trainingKarateForums.com
BlackBeauty Posted January 17, 2003 Posted January 17, 2003 Thanks for the heads up Jack...prior to Cell Tech, I've only ever taken normal creatine monohydrate. The person who recommended it to me competes in body building competitions and uses it himself. Anyway, I've been on Cell Tech for almost 2 months now, so with your advice, I'll keep an eye on the results....BlackBeauty - don't fall for Muscle-Tech's false advertising. BlackI Posted January 17, 2003 Posted January 17, 2003 I use creatine once, but got a bad rash from using it. In my opinion anything that the body can naturally process (weather working out or not) should not be used In search of the Temple of Light
