bushido_man96 Posted June 1, 2020 Posted June 1, 2020 There was a small group of what looked like Kung Fu students doing forms in the park this morning. I found a spot a way off to do my kata practice and we shared a friendly wave.Nice sense of community there. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
DWx Posted July 26, 2020 Author Posted July 26, 2020 Finally have a date to return to indoor training! From the 25th July we've been able to meet indoors but I've been waiting for the go-ahead from the places I rent. Our first class back will be August 5th! No contact or paired work which limits us a bit and every student has to have a marked space on the floor, but so glad to finally be back to class. Virtual classes will have to suffice until then. **Proof is on the floor!!!
bushido_man96 Posted July 27, 2020 Posted July 27, 2020 That's great to hear, Danielle! https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
DWx Posted November 11, 2020 Author Posted November 11, 2020 After 3 months in person classes (all social distant) we're back online again for a minimum of 4 weeks, could be longer :'(This is getting old fast "Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it." ~ Confucius
bushido_man96 Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 That's too bad, Danielle. I'm really hoping that doesn't happen to us again, but I'm afraid that it will. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
skullsplitter Posted November 25, 2020 Posted November 25, 2020 We reopened for in person classes on 5/26. The first few weeks we had about 25% of our enrolled students coming back. Now we have all but 10 of the originally enrolled students PLUS 25-30 new students so we have more than we started with now. The owner think's it might be the Cobra Kai show stirring interest.A new shutdown is looming though with at least 1 neighboring state closing gyms this week.

DWx Posted December 2, 2020 Author Posted December 2, 2020 We're training back in person from Friday (but were allowed to do so from today). We've got a tier system here in the UK with Tier 1 areas being the most lenient and Tier 3 (where I am ) with the strictest measures. We can only teach under 18s in person at the moment. So only Junior classes going ahead. Adults can join us online but can only be taught in a 1 to 1 setting. No contact or paired work for anyone. Unfortunately one of the halls I hire isn't opening back up so some of my classes are still online only. "Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it." ~ Confucius

Wouldn't be surprised if the Martial Arts industry grows off the back of this. "Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it." ~ Confucius
