tallgeese Celebrates 10 Years as a Moderator

Featured Replies

Hey all,

Ten years ago today, Alex (tallgeese) became a moderator at KarateForums.com.

I love Alex's journey as a martial artist as told through his contributions in our community. His passion for the arts, his decisions to diversify his training, and to open a school of his own. We've seen it all play out, and I consider myself fortunate to have witnessed it.

Coincidentally, May 4 marked 11 years that Alex has been a member of our community. Alex has been such a great, selfless contributor here, and I think he's only become a more valuable contributor as time has passed. Detailed, open, smart, and thoughtful. Both as a member and as a staff member, where his understanding of the moderator role is refined and helps to keep our community in a good place.

If you're reading this, I hope that you'll join me in congratulating Alex and sharing your thoughts on this thread. In addition, we'll be sending Alex and his family out to dinner (and I'll be sending you a DM right after I post this, Alex, in order to set this up).

Alex, thank you for being such an exemplary member, for showing others the way, and for encouraging people to share their viewpoints. Thank you for being a great member of our team and for all of your support over the years. It's a privilege to have you here.

Patrick

Thanks for everything you’ve done and continue to do, Alex. You’re one of the biggest reasons why I started posting here.

Congratulations!

Congrats, Alex, on reaching that milestone here at KF!! You've meant a lot to many people here, MAist as well as non-MAists, with your thoughtful and caring posts these many years...including myself; thank you for helping us to understand.

I feel quite fortunate to have been able to share these many years together, both as a member and as a fellow KF Staffer. I've learned a lot from you across the board, and consider you my friend, both in and out of the MA.

Here's to another 10 years here at KF!!

Congratulations on hitting this milestone, Alex! :karate: You've been such an important part of this community for so long, and the community is so much the better with you being a part of it. You have always been helpful and insightful, and the community benefits greatly from this.

Here's to the next 10 years!

congrats!

Thank you all so much!

Thank you, Patrick for, as always, running such a fantastic community that has so much value when it comes to discourse over the arts. It's been a pleasure to be part of it. I consider this part of my training, and it's always valuable for expanding my mind and keeping me open to possibilities and other systems.

Thank you all again!
