Zlatan
why do you wanna do one handed push-ups anyway. they dont realy serve a purpose apart from showing off. to do one handed push ups anyway you need to spread your legs wide so that you are balanced, but its takes alot of strength to do these with good form. Synaesthesia
I find the closest thing to a one handed pushup is doing two-handed pushups with your hands close together. Put as much of your weight as you can support on one hand when you execute the pushup and alternate. Training that for a while should build up the sort of shoulder and tricep strength you need for the 1 handed pushup.
Ironberg
I think it is really funny when my instructor asks my class to do a good number of one-handed pushups. I see some people bobbing their heads up and down while their arms aren't doing a lick of work, while others collapse to the floor. I myself am terrible, but their was a time when I injured my right pectoral in a nasty home-benching accident, and I managed to do twenty-five left handers during class and I still couldn't to anything much with my right arm at all. Yes, tricept power is very essencial to one-handers. A tricept press with dumbells would be a good way to train for one-handers. One question, has any of you ever done one-handed pushups with one leg saddled behind the other. I can't seem to do that yet, I need more balance and power. ZeRo
the biggest thing about one handed push ups is that you spread your legs. i couldnt do them at all till i worked that one out.
Blade13
I agree, spreading your legs for balance is a must. I have a ton of respect for anyone who can do them without spreading their legs. I can do one handed pushups on my fingertips though. Im pretty proud of that. haha

Mayur
Bruce Lee used to do one handed push-ups with just two fingers BTW, I can't do one handed push-ups |Mayur|
Bretty101
Yeah as said legs wode back super-straight! Best to keep your back straight by looking up straight in front of you rather then staring at the floor and trying to bash your hed on it. Lower your chin to the floor not your forehead. That just looks stupid! Bretty
