JR 137 Posted January 1, 2018 Posted January 1, 2018 Since no one else started it, I figured I would...1. Earn 1st kyu.2. Minimum 2x per week with my BOB XL3. Increase leg and hip flexibility
mushybees Posted January 1, 2018 Posted January 1, 2018 Since no one else started it, I figured I would...1. Earn 1st kyu.2. Minimum 2x per week with my BOB XL3. Increase leg and hip flexibility1. Start solo internal bodywork training to learn to develop better structure and connection.2. Improve my sparring. Sport karate bores me but I really need to commit myself to that aspect of my training. It won't change how I feel about the tournament circuit but it's something I've avoided and shouldn't.3. Achieve shodan in wado ryu.
sensei8 Posted January 1, 2018 Posted January 1, 2018 Seeing that I'll have Afib for the rest of my life...1. Continue to teach2. Continue to train3. Continue to put the Student Body of the SKKA first **Proof is on the floor!!!
Bulltahr Posted January 1, 2018 Posted January 1, 2018 1. Get my hips assessed, diagnosed and repaired (if possible).2. More sparring3. Continue to support my club in anyway I can "We don't have any money, so we will have to think" - Ernest Rutherford

Increase leg and hip flexibilityI actually forgot 2...4. Take a class under Kaicho Nakamura 5. Compete in our annual tournament I wanted to compete this year and started training to compete, but the tournament date conflicted with important family stuff.
Lupin1 Posted January 1, 2018 Posted January 1, 2018 1. Focus more on my teaching and how I can become a better teacher.2. Get my Nidan.3. Commit to more practice at home outside of class.
DWx Posted January 1, 2018 Posted January 1, 2018 Happy New Year allI've two... one small and one not so small:1. Get back to the gym and be more structured with my training2. Start my own club "Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it." ~ Confucius

I hope so... though it probably won't go over well at my current club or with my instructor "Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it." ~ Confucius
Shizentai Posted January 1, 2018 Posted January 1, 2018 Happy New Year allI've two... one small and one not so small:1. Get back to the gym and be more structured with my training2. Start my own clubStarting your own club, Danielle, is a great idea because you've got everything required in making it a great success!! Your Student Body will be very fortunate in having you as their instructor!! Indeed! Go for it!! Ossu!My resolutions this year are simple:1. Actually take that sandan exam that I've been dodging for the past ....6 years They almost got me in 2017, but I managed to duck testing long enough to finally make my sentei flow the way I wanted them to, and to test some new kumite ideas I've been working on in secret for the past 5 years that I took away from competition. I feel calmer now, sturdier now, albeit with a longer recovery time as I age. I think I'll give it a go. "My work itself is my best signature."-Kawai Kanjiro
