Karate_John Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 So..., My Girlfriend and I made a last minute decision to visit japan because of the cheap airfare. That means it will be my first trip to Japan, and Tokyo. So, Any recommendations on what to see or do be it martial-arts related or not? I'm thinking of visiting the Kodokan for one, but sadly not all to far along in judo. Goju Ryu - ShodanMy MA Blog: http://gojublog.comPersonal Blog: http://zenerth.tumblr.com
Patrick Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Hey Karate_John,Sounds like fun! My girlfriend, Kara, just got back from there! Here's what she said:I don't know karate things but the Imperial Guard was training at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo. We could hear them and our guide showed us where all the ninja stations used to be. Harajuku station is just wild to see but it's a teen girls' dream so maybe that's not helpful. The Meiju Shinto shrine is nice.If you're into old school video games, 8bit Cafe.Use Foursquare to find good places near you to eat. This place was delicious: https://foursquare.com/v/%E4%BA%AC%E7%94%BA%E6%81%8B%E3%81%97%E3%81%90%E3%82%8C-%E6%96%B0%E5%AE%BF/4cd26cfc1cd32c0f483370cfGinza is the fancier district that's fun to walk around/get dinner or a drink.I would really recommend they also go to Kyoto. She sent me a lot of pictures during the trip and it looked really great. Have fun! Patrick Patrick O'Keefe - KarateForums.com AdministratorHave a suggestion or a bit of feedback relating to KarateForums.com?
