IcemanSK
I'm a TKD guy & wear much thinner uniforms now. But I remember the days of 12 & 14 oz uniforms. I agree with the above....compression shorts will help tremendously. I wear them even now & they make a world of difference. Being a good fighter is One thing. Being a good person is Everything. I wear them even now & they make a world of difference.I'm also a heavy sweater and find just as much a problem is the way they seem to catch on the outside of my thigh. I'm not the lean body type most doboks seem made for so I wear a 190 size despite being 180 tall. I also wear them a bit low on the hips so the crotch area is a bit low and the pants catch a bit on my legs. apart from always tucking the sides up under the drawstring all the time are there better ways or better cuts? Has anyone just stitched the pants to ride a little higher? On the plus side, all that sweat makes the uniform give a much more satisfying snap noise. Spartacus Maximus
If sweating makes a cotton gi difficult to move in, it is more than likely due to being the wrong size or wrong fit. If all else fails, maybe a custom fit might be the best way to go. Different brands have different cuts, so trying to find a good fit takes more than one try. It is highly recommended to try before buying one if at all possible, and check that the full range of movement is un hindered. Also consider the cling factor of cotton when damp. Socksey
I have the same sweaty leg issue and I find that the best thing is to have the gi bottoms pulled up so that the crotch is higher.... this has meant in one pair that I've have to have the tops remade so that the waist-crotch length is shorter.... since then, they sitck/catch much less.
