Kama question...

Featured Replies

I am a Tang Soo Do student, and I am at the point where I want to choose a weapon form to specialize in. I have narrowed it down to two weapons, being the sai and kama.

please describe the pro's and con's of the sai and kama, so that I may make a more informed decision.

thanks....

Both are useless, learn how to use a knife!

Limits Are Not Accepted. They Are Elbowed, Kicked And Punched.

we learn bo, knife, sword and nunchatku forms as part of our training at out school. I would like to specialize in either sai or kama techiques, so please limit replies to these two options.

thanks

Dont listen to Thai_Kick, he is just jealous because MT does'nt have weapons training....lol.

Both are interesting weapons, personally I like the Kama. Obviously in the real world not really appliable. The Kama has a unique quality in that its a curved weapon, and it is very different from the other 4 you mentioned in your above post. Where as the Sai will be very similiar to that of the knife. Thats only IMHO ofcourse.

Take Care.

the only weapon i know about is the sword and thats only because i've been working with one for a couple of years. so i guess i'd recommend the kama only because its sharp (if my memory is correct)
Please continue this discussion in the weapons area. There is allready a thread by this name there.
