The Pred Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Hey everyone, people that own their own dojo and or been at their current one for a while. How often (or if you did) did your dojo class schedule change throughout the years? Once a year, once every few years, etc. Teachers are always learning
wayneshin Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 We review our schedule around September/October each year with a view to publishing next years schedule several months in advance. Generally the more advanced classes don't change too much. Changes at other times are rare.
The Pred Posted August 23, 2015 Author Posted August 23, 2015 Awesome, trying to figure out ways to change our saturday class schedule Teachers are always learning
wayneshin Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Whenever we have had to change a schedule mid year communication and advance notice as the keys. We try to talk to as many of the affected people as possible and let them know what we are planning and if possible why you want to make the change. Ultimately you cant please everyone.
Nidan Melbourne Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 We only change our scheduling when absolutely necessary. But is hard to add classes because we rent the space so it will depend on availability
sensei8 Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 We review our schedules every year just after the Annual Testing Cycle, if necessary. But, I can't remember when a significant schedule change occurred. When the Kyuodan Dojo first opened, the schedule changes were often each time the student body would increase. In Tulsa, my student body reached around 375 students, so, schedule changes were made as the student body advanced. There was no since in scheduling intermediates/advanced classes when I first opened the Kyuodan Dojo because I only had beginners, at first. However, as some transferred over from the Hombu, I had to generate intermediate and advanced classes to accommodate the rank increases. **Proof is on the floor!!!
The Pred Posted August 24, 2015 Author Posted August 24, 2015 Yeah saturday open from 11-345. Then when we run our beginner recreation program 10-345. I think 345, is late to stay open on a saturday. Teachers are always learning

I think 345, is late to stay open on a saturday.I agree 3:45 is a tad lad considering many people would like to relax for the rest of the afternoon. That is partly why our classes run from 8:30 - 10:30 in the morning. So people can do other things for the rest of the day especially if they have other sporting commitments.
