Venezolano Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 Hello, I just began BJJ last week, but in the exercises before the techniques, those to warm up, i get too tired, very fast, so when we do combat, i just can't do almost anything because i'm tired, what can i do? Valencia - Venezuela.
rabid hamster Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 start running everyday for 30 minutes to one hour. You will notice your endurance improves very fast this way. It is only with the heart that one can see clearly, for the most essential things are invisible to the eye.
rabid hamster Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 oh i forgot to add. if you can't run or hate running, try buying some jump rope and use it. i remember hearing 1 minute jump roping equaled 3 minutes jogging. It is only with the heart that one can see clearly, for the most essential things are invisible to the eye.
Thai_Kick Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 I agree with Hiya, To jump rope is a great way to increase stamina and improve your overall conditioning. In Muay Thai class we jump rope none stop for 20-30 minutes! Limits Are Not Accepted. They Are Elbowed, Kicked And Punched.
Karateka_latino Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 Also, Grapple!!! Grappling will give you grappling endurance. You can Run, jump ropes, etc.... But what will give you endurance for grappling is..grappling. Roll, roll, roll.. Don't get desperate, you just have two weeks on BJJ, your classmates will mop the floor with your body for sometime, but you'll learn and get better and with regular training you'll be grappling much much better, just have patient.
G95champ Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 Just keep going it takes 14 days for the body to get in shape and 2 days for it to get out of it. (General George S. Patton Jr.) "It's the unconquerable soul of man, and not the nature of the weapon he uses, that ensures victory."
Jack Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 This is usual for beginners. Work on your endurance! Also, make sure you are eating properly to fuel your training. Eat some good complex carbohydrates 1-2 hours before you exercise - bread, bagels, rice, potatos, pasta, yams, oats. These complex carbohydrates will give you more long-lasting energy than any energy sweet, candy bar, or fruit juice. JackCurrently 'off' from formal MA trainingKarateForums.com
Red J Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 Ven, it's only been a week, give yourself a break. Keep busting your b, and it will get better. You should see improvements as every week passes. I had to lose my mind to come to my senses.
KickChick Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 All good points! Cardio --->Endurance!!! It's true what Jack said... we never look at what we eat! A loss in energy and being tired so soon could be because your body lack the fuel to keep your energy levels sustained. A good complex carb before working out will keep you going. Also pace yourself! I know that's easy to say but we tend to put all our energy out at once ... learn to "pace" . Breathing is important also. Breathe through the nose out through the mouth in a good steady pace .... be conscious of your breathing.
Venezolano Posted November 1, 2002 Author Posted November 1, 2002 Yes, it has been only a week, but i got frustrated last night when i did around 4 combats, and i loose all, one of my opponents was a guy who weight is like 60kg (mine is like 80kg), and he is newbie like me, but i was so tired i couldn't did almost anything i don't wanna quit my BJJ training because i like it a lot, but i thought last night that i can't do it due to my pyshic condition I'm a little desesparated and frustated Valencia - Venezuela.
