will56 Posted October 31, 2002 Posted October 31, 2002 I was wondering does anyone know if the electronic exercisers are actually any good( There hard to explain; they have pads that you place on different muscle groups that then get stimulated by electronic pulses). You see I have very little extra time to go to the gym (Im a busy college student). I really only get time for a run some stretching and push ups and sit-ups. Has anyone else had experience with these things and do they give results.
G95champ Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 I have never used them but I have learned a few things in my 25 years here on Earth. 1. There is no quick and simple fix. 2. There is a God and I am not him. 3. America is not perfect but its the best out there. So read number one.... (General George S. Patton Jr.) "It's the unconquerable soul of man, and not the nature of the weapon he uses, that ensures victory."
KickChick Posted November 2, 2002 Posted November 2, 2002 Refer back to this post http://www.karateforums.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=521&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=electro%20muscle%20abs to G95champ! No one ever said getting fit was easy, but there seems to be plenty of fitness "gadget" infomercials making you believe that it could easier. You have to use that Ab Roller about 250,000 times to burn just one pound of fat and Tony Little's Freestyle Gazelle, a low-impact aerobic exerciser supposedly burns up to 1,000 calories an hour(actually you'd have to run for an hour at a nine-minute-mile clip just to burn 685 calories!) The ab roller is no more effective than doing the traditional crunch or sit up and the "gazelle" no more effective than a brisk run!
Bretty101 Posted November 2, 2002 Posted November 2, 2002 I was given one to use by a doctor when i was rehabilitating after injury. Managed to break my leg, dislocate my shoulder and break my collar bone in a 6 month period so used the EMS system to train my muscles while i was inactive. Can't really say if it helped, i managed to lose nearly 30 pounds of weight (muscle) over that period. I can't see you really getting the satisfaction of a good work out either. Bretty
Red J Posted November 6, 2002 Posted November 6, 2002 If those products were as good as the claims are, then the manufacturers wouldn't need 30 minute info-mercials to sell them as they would just sell themselves. Remember buyer beware! Good comments G95. I had to lose my mind to come to my senses.
