Hey guys, I thought this would be a good idea. To just see other teachers, or styles, or just what everyone else is learning. I used the search function and it seems no one has thought of this before. So hopefully this is something new. I wasn't sure where to put this, either here or the media section. The only footage of my direct instructor that is online is nine years old, pre-dates when he began training on Okinawa, and is of Wado-Ryu kata. I would post it but it is not particularly reflective of his karate now.

interesting idea to post your teachers teacher. i never thought of that. I would do that, but there is only 1 person behind GM Park and that's General Choi and everyone knows who he is, so there wouldn't be much point to it

This is my master Sifu Sam Chan, teacher of Jow Ga, Tai Chi, and the style I learn under him, Wing Chun as taught by Grandmaster Ip Man and his sons Ip Ching and Ip Chun.

Interestingly enough, at about the 2:00 mark, this is actually one of our school's blue belt level one-steps!

Cool idea, Very nice spinoff of the thread I made a while back for posting videos of yourself! The two together go hand-in-hand Innoway and I think they are great for the forum community to get to see things in a different way and not just wright. There isn't alot of videos of our founder, the late Sensei Kuda Yuichi out there, but here is a GREAT video of Sensei Ronald Lindsey of Bastrop, Tx that shows some very good techniques of how our system works.

Note the use of body movment to the side of the attacker..it's an intrigal part of our system and is worked a LOT in class. Also note the use of his leg to block kicks..again, worked a lot in class and sparring.

Nice video. I was surprised at how much/how often he went to one leg, but leg checking kicks makes sense. It keeps the hands available for use, which he did with all the striking and locking. The side stepping was pretty subtle, too, and I also found some of the side stepping stances having the feet close together interesting, too. Thanks for sharing it, Montana.
