I was doing PhD research, but work for a bookstore now.

When someone mentioned a deadline, he said: "You’ve got a deadline. Well, I do too: death." He smiled. "It tends to insert itself into our considerations."

I have been an AI research assistant, rock climbing instructor, systems analyst, history & classical studies teacher, maths teacher and accounts assistant but having recently been made redundant I am now looking for something new and exciting to do (definitely not accountancy!).

If only schools still taught classics...I enjoyed that

I'm in IT--have been for about 12 years, now--and currently an "Energy Systems Analyst," which is a fancy way of saying that I am basically the help desk for computers that control lighting and HVAC systems.

I'm a motorcycle mechanic. At least I was, I got hit by a car last year while test riding a bike I worked on and have been out of work and doing physical therapy for the last year. I was planning to go back to what I was doing before but I think I am going to take the insurance money and try to start my own business.

"Technical Sales Manager" - I work for a chemical distribution company and sell things like additives, catalysts, pigments etc. to companies who make coatings. So products like your household emulsion paints, through to coatings for turbines and oil rigs, inks, glues, sealants... Never thought I'd wind up doing this..
