Hi Guys. I can kick quite well/high with control and am quite flexable but im looking to be able to strengthen my back and legs to be able to hold my legs up high for more than a couple of seconds and was wondering if anyone had any advice or exercises that i could do to do that.

Here's a set of drills I've seen on YouTube. While it's TKD I'm sure you could adapt the technique to the way that kicks are done in Kyokushin:

That's exactly what I was going to post. Depending on your level, start off holding a wall or chair then progress up to no support.

Also search for any videos for strengthening your abductors and abductors as these are important for holding your kick up.

Those are some sweet drills - I'm definitely gonna take those to class next week seeing as I've had multiple requests for kicking help recently. (I seem to be the go to at my karate class since I have the most TKD background)
