unaccepted Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Australia, GKR Canberra is the worse as instructor (sensei Mark P) can upgrade student to the next level (move up a belt) without completing their require training session per their written policy. Because they don't want to lose student or the mother may be too charm to an instructor so they can get their children up the rank and save the money. My daughter recently was upset and could not work it out why the other girl has 3 sessions short than her but was grant the next level where she was put in a lot of effect to do 12 sessions. I challenged for an answer from the GKR instructor and manager, also I requested for a refund of the three sessions different but they said I will get nothing. What such an organization like this is allow to cheat everyone in the world? All is about money and misleading children as well. I told them GKR taught children wrongly and doggy way to get and it can be damaged to the way they thinking about our community and society. DO NOT beleive what they say and people should keep their children away from GKR.
Spartacus Maximus Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 Unless you have time and resources to spend on arguing with GKR, there is nothing you can do to make them change their policy and their methods. That your experience as a lesson on what to lookout for when you go looking for a decent school to learn quality martial arts. Surely a large city such as Canberra has at least a few schools or instructors who will teach fairly and honestly. It is of no use wasting any more time and energy getting aggro with a school whose main goal is clearly not the teaching of quality martial arts.
Safroot Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 Expect anything from GKR ... It's the worst Karate school in Australia ,, for them, it's all about money not karate. Try to find another school for your daughter & don't waste your&her time & money with such people. "The Martial Arts begin with a point and end in a circle."
