Archimoto Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Thanks guys. No need for cutting. There's plenty of martial art shops in my city. Found my size earlier today. Great work! To quote the great Bob Marley: "LOVE IS MY RELIGION"

gronis Posted September 7, 2014 Author Posted September 7, 2014 Next time the kumite will be ippon kumite. I know the attacks will be pre-determined. Will my block and counter also be or do I choose that myself? How is it usually done i JKA Shotokan? I'm sure my sensei will go through it but I like to have a headstart:)
sensei8 Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Next time the kumite will be ippon kumite. I know the attacks will be pre-determined. Will my block and counter also be or do I choose that myself? How is it usually done i JKA Shotokan? I'm sure my sensei will go through it but I like to have a headstart:)That's a great question. What I've learnt in training with many JKA Shotokan karateka's is that that question will vary from dojo to dojo. Some will have pre-arranged while other will allow one to pick while others will allow both. Ask a fellow student, that you trust, that's been through this already and ask her/him for a heads-up.Still, good luck, and please let us know how it ends up, thanks!! **Proof is on the floor!!!
Nidan Melbourne Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Definitely check with your sensei in relation to ippon kumite. Otherwise ask more senior students for advice on it
