Hi Im looking at buying another gi. I currently have a Japanese cut Adidas one but want to get the Shotokan badge on a new one with the clubs name below it.

Does anyone know what the fittings are like on the various Kamae gi, I prefer the longer top with shorter arms. The reason Im choosing Kamae is they do the embroidery for the badge.

They also sell Kaiten gi on there website if that would be an option as they also embroid them.

Thanks

Hi kanie1972, welcome to KF!

This is a difficult question because gis often differ in their sizes depending on the company. A size 3 in Century (as an example) may be a size 4 or 5 in Kamae. Most companies will have a size chart on their website or, in the case of Kamae, will have measurement selections. I have always been an advocate for tailoring to fit (if possible) with gis. It allows you to get something that is the closest to your size and then change it to your specification.

Most companies will do embroidery for people.

I have never heard of Kamae Gi before so I can't tell you exactly. Maybe there is a website for their sizing?
