Wastelander Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 A dozen of our competitors qualified to compete at the USA Karate (WKF) National Championships in Reno, NV, and today was the last day of competition. The last day is Kumite Day, and our youngest competitor, 5 year old Kaylee, took the Gold in this match. It was a tough, back-and-fourth match, but she stuck to her game plan (kick them in the head) and pulled out the win. We're very proud of her! Nidan Melbourne Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Congrats. Wish we could have gotten a close up
wayneshin Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Wicked kicks for a 5 yr old. Congrats to the young lady. Interesting that you start at National level so young. I came over the the USOpen with the Aust team both this year and in 2012 and it was noticeable how seasoned your competitors were by the 11/12 Mark. We don't start at National level until 9.
