sensei8 Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 (edited) My first grading was so long ago, however, I'm approaching my 50th year, so it must've went well. Relax, and if you mess up, and you will, put that behind you asap because the test will take care of itself. Train hard; you'll be just fine!! Good luck and let us know how it went. Safroot Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 So I graded, and I got my yellow belt! It was intense but fun. cheesefrysamurai Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I was numb - overexcited and nervous. In truth, not everyone passes BUT you must understand that your instructor sees you every class and would not have invited you to grade if they didnt think you were ready.practice the hell out of your forms and kihon, really everything he asks you to perform and do your best to make things look clean and sharp.you'll do great im sure Nothing Worth Having Is Easily Obtained - ESPECIALLY RANK
Canadian77 Posted March 3, 2014 Author Posted March 3, 2014 Thanks everyone. It was a great experience, and I'm pumped in my new belt. My classes will now be a little bit longer, and I'll get to try some new things, like sparring.

ozm8 Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 my first grading was just 2 months ago it is scary with all the people that go there but you wouldn't be there unless your instructor thinks you're ready for it so dont worry about it
sensei8 Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 my first grading was just 2 months ago it is scary with all the people that go there but you wouldn't be there unless your instructor thinks you're ready for it so dont worry about itThat scary feeling will not go away anytime soon, no matter the rank. The higher in rank you're testing for, the more your scary feeling will remain. Still, that scary feeling reminds you that you're alive!!Take deep breathes, and take them often. Be calm...well...as calm as possible. **Proof is on the floor!!!
