AdamKralic
My wife and I have differing opinions about diet for our son. She believes that he is a child and as such he can eat anything. He is thin and athletic...so I try not to be a grinch about it and let her feed him 1" thick slabs of white bread coated with 1/2" of jelly as a snack. And a bunch of other stuff that is equally poor in nutritional value. She is in better shape than me by appearance...but my doctor thinks that I have the "guts" of a racehorse...and hers is always getting on her as she has a bunch of imbalances. So be it.Yesterday the doctor told us that my son's blood sugar is waaaay too high. That got my wife's attention as I was being selfish somehow in wanting only "good" food in the house in the 14,000 times prior that I mentioned that chips, soda and jelly are not food groups. But when a doctor says the same thing...THEN stuff can change. *sigh* To ease the "blow" on my son...I can up with a (imo) awesome analogy. It totally worked and is the reason for this entire post.Son, you are a Ferrari. Most people treat themselves like economy cars. They end up looking like beat up economy cars as a result. As a Ferrari...you cannot just put cheap gas in your tank. You run on premium fuel. THIS worked 5,000%. He lit up as soon as he saw that I saw him as a Ferrari. He understood it right to the core of his being...instantly. It wads not a boring adult to child lecture about saturated and unsaturated fats...simple vs complex carbs...all that will come...but for now it was a 2014 Ferrari vs a rusty 1984 Honda Civic. If you have trouble with your child's diet...try the Ferrari method. /2 cents. Harkon72
Not only this, but each of us have various types of body process. I'm a blood type AB+ve, My wife is a B blood type. I have an explorer and warrior geno type. My wife has a Gatherer and Nomad geno type. If we ate the same food; we would go down hill very fast. What's good for one person can make another very sick. Listen to your child's body; it will tell you what is medicine for it. Look to the far mountain and see all.
wayneshin
Thanks Adam. I have similar problems with my son. Youngest child syndrome. I'll try this!
mal103
Great analogy, you are what you eat and your body is a temple....we've been eating fruit, veg and meat for ever - not processed chemicals.
DWx
Great analogy, you are what you eat and your body is a temple....we've been eating fruit, veg and meat for ever - not processed chemicals.Depends what your definition of a processed chemicals is...A simple banana contains plenty of E numbers and chemicals like phenylalanine and glutamic acid. To top it off it's radioactive too. Fun fact: a BED or banana equivalent dose is an official unit of radiation. Not everything natural is good for you either. Harkon72
They advocate Green Tea don't they? Well, the Tea plant sucks up more Floride from its environment than any other. Tea itself is fine, the byproduct that comes with it is one of the most toxic substances on the planet! Look to the far mountain and see all.
