Being in a style that's "soft" VS "hard" isn't a bad thing in either way. By that I mean, if you're in one of them, your style isn't weak or inferior or dominating or any other descriptive label.

How one deals with said attacker is how ones style attaches itself on one or the other terminologies. A hard technique meets force with force, while a soft technique uses attacker's force to the attackers disadvantage, not to romantic, but right to the point.

I understand. I wasn't getting on with a debate either. I was just informing those who weren't aware of what the basic differences were between the two, and that both types are effective, imho.

... If not, try a softer style like Shotokan. This is all IMO.

Just like to say to those that don't know, Shotokan isn't a "soft" style (in case there is any mis-understanding), it's just not as full contact as Kyokushin

Yes that's what I meant. Kyokushin isn't for everyone, that's why it's very important that if parents want to send their children to a Karate class, it is important to check what style it is. Ask the Sensei etc. Because some people can't handle full contact such as myself and there's no shame in it.

But Shotokan is lethal when used properly. Trust me I know
