mfinney Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 Greetings. I am looking for a Kalaripayattu instructor in the US or someone who might be willing to work with me at a distance. I live in an area that is in a remote part of Wisconsin so finding a class is not likely locally. Any help would be great. Thanks
Alan Armstrong Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 Kalaripayattu could be the mother of your martial art style no matter if it is Chinese, Japanese or Korean. There could be some aspects of this style that your style's founder may have neglected to add.Would consider that the martial art styles of today are fragmented from earlier civilizations, yes we have improved but we could have regressed also.
bushido_man96 Posted November 2, 2016 Posted November 2, 2016 Its a pretty obscure style anymore, and finding it outside of India might prove quite a challenge. One is probably better off starting out in a local school and learning the basics of Martial Arts, and then branch out from there. The journey must start somewhere! https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
sensei8 Posted November 2, 2016 Posted November 2, 2016 As Brian says, one's got to start somewhere, and getting the basics of the MA might be the way to go before searching for the MA style that's rare. And if Kalaripayattu is only obscure because it's not available to just anyone wanting to learn it for whatever reasons, than possibly, it'll die out before its time. **Proof is on the floor!!!
