Harkon72 Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 I am experiencing a tension pain in my neck that was so severe last night that I ended up in Accident and Emergency at our County Hospital. I met with Dr. Becky my G.P. tonight and she prescribed hot Tiger Balm, Ibo Gel and long shoulder massages from my wife. I see my specialist tomorrow. Has anyone else had these pains? They say they can be a result of de-toxing. Look to the far mountain and see all.
bushido_man96 Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 I'm not familiar with anything like that, but I hope you get better soon. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com

wayneshin Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Is it possible this was the aftermath of a training session. Karate and other martial arts can be very hard on this region. Think of all the punching and often push ups which work through the anterior of your upper body and esp if you are punching ‘air’ your upper back has to act as a brake compounding the problem. Also can be magnified if you are spending long hours in front of a computer. I’m speaking from personal experience through all of this – I used to get tension headaches which originated in my neck/shoulders that were so severe that I was incapacitated for hours.I do a number of things now to alleviate them. Regular massage through the neck and back area. I have a little spikey ball I use on the front point of my shoulder to loosen this area. Two tennis balls that I have taped together (think of a peanut) to mobilise my thorassic area – either when I am in a computer chair or laying down. (Do a youtube search on tennis balls thorassic)Strengthening work through the back (eg rowing using a thera-band or similar)It all helps as long as I do it regularly. All the best. Of course if you don’t think it is cause by training (or perhaps even if it is)………… time for a Doctor/physio/chiro

It also helped that my Martial Arts instructor at the time WAS a physical therapist and would ask after a particularly stringent workout how I was feeling. Martial arts training is 30% classroom training, 70% solo training.https://www.instagram.com/nordic_karate/
